On the 21st and 22nd of November 2023, the Consortium of the project COMMUNITIES 3.0 (project number: 2021-1-SE01-KA220-ADU-000035091) met for the second time. The meeting was organized in Palermo and hosted by the Italian partner Teatro alla Guilla.

The project specifically focuses on developing a sustainable cooperative approach to boost civil society actors and adult education organizations as active agents for social inclusion in socio-economically disadvantaged neighborhoods (SEDN). Therefore, the meeting also provided an opportunity for the partners to participate in a study visit to Moltivolti, a social enterprise that promotes food as a tool for dialogue among different people and cultures.

During the meeting on the first day, the partners reviewed their progress. They have already completed country reports detailing existing social inclusion initiatives led by civil society, and they have successfully developed the initial curriculum of the MOOC platform for “Strengthening Organisational Capacity for Community Impact”. Currently, they are engaged in crafting the second curriculum titled “Creative Neighborhoods for Social Inclusion, Civic Participation, and Active Citizenship.” Thus, they set deadlines and made decisions related to the next steps during the meeting.

The second day was devoted to designing the MOOC platform and discussing dissemination and administrative issues. Additionally, decisions were made regarding the next steps for creating a short promotional movie. This movie will include an introduction to the concept and project products, examples of country events for social inclusion, civic engagement, and active citizenship in SEDN, as well as testimonials from local stakeholders.
